THE MASK
A Four-Part Guided Reflection Series
What if the version of yourself you’ve learned to defend is the very version that’s preventing you from being honest about where you are?
Sometimes we become so attached to the person we believe we’re supposed to be that we stop giving ourselves permission to acknowledge what we’re actually experiencing.
We tell ourselves we’ve moved on. That we’re healed. That we’re unbothered. That we’re stronger now. And sometimes those things are true.
But what happens when maintaining that version of ourselves becomes more important than being honest about what we feel?
The Mask is a four-part, live guided reflection and discussion series hosted by The Manjula Awakening.
Together, we’ll explore how we become attached to certain identities, the cost of maintaining them, the perspectives and stories we defend, and what becomes possible when we give ourselves permission not to have everything figured out.
This isn’t about telling you who you should become. It’s about creating space to examine who you’ve learned to be.
What We’ll Explore
- Session One: The Mask
The version of yourself you’ve learned to perform.- We’ll explore the difference between genuine growth and feeling obligated to prove that we’ve grown. What happens when being strong, healed, happy, or unbothered becomes an identity we feel we have to maintain?
-
Session Two: The Cost of the Performance
What does maintaining that version of yourself cost you?- We’ll look at the emotional energy, choices, relationships, and personal honesty we may sacrifice to keep showing up as the person we believe we’re supposed to be.
-
Session Three: Perspective, Loyalty, and Karma
What happens when we become loyal to a perspective?- We’ll examine the stories we tell ourselves, the beliefs we defend, and how our interpretations can influence our choices and recurring patterns — without confusing self-awareness with self-blame.
-
Session Four: The Permission Not to Know
Who are you when you no longer need to have all the answers?- We’ll explore the freedom to change, reconsider, remain uncertain, and continue learning without forcing ourselves into another fixed identity.

A Final Invitation
You don’t have to come into this space with answers.
You don’t have to prove that you’re healed, that you’ve moved on, or that you’ve figured everything out.
You only need a willingness to look at yourself honestly and consider what you may be ready to understand differently.
The goal isn’t to create another version of yourself to perform. It’s to make room for the person you actually are.
